The system is designed primarily for haulage contractors, the police force, firefighters, taxi companies, rescue and security services and logistic systems operators. LUPUS utilizes the satellite Global Positioning System (GPS), providing position and time information related to the unified reference system, twenty-four hours a day, anywhere in the world. LUPUS communication is based on the Siemens automotive A20 GSM modules. The application of A20 enables the mobile unit (last version is MJ2016) to withstand the severe operation conditions in automotive and generally all ground/river environment. LUPUS MJ2016 mobile unit is designed to the direct plug in to the VW Group (VW, Audi, SEAT, Skoda) CAN. The mobile unit wiring is so very easy just to plug the GPS, GSM and CAN connectors. LUPUS is able to monitor, screen, and keep records of over 50.000 mobile units in real time. LUPUS offers solution for traffic logistic operations and information on over interconnected transport points all over the world (optimum routes, calculations of estimated freight costs for different vehicle types , all travel expenses, route itinerary, transit points). LUPUS provides information on the history of a route, status data of the vehicle or load. LUPUS offers route planning, monitors diversions from a planned route, the passage through a required point, and the placing of orders from the control centre to vehicles. LUPUS system complies with the European telecommunication standard and the requirements regarding road vehicle equipment such as Czech Republic ATEST8SD or Austrian and German TÜV certificates. MOBILE UNIT Communication between a vehicle and the communication server is provided by the mobile unit located in the vehicle. LUPUS MJ 2016 mobile unit offers the GSM communication based on Siemens A20 automotive GSM module. The SMS messages are used to pass vehicle information through the GSM network. The messages are transmitted via a GSM automotive Siemens A20 module designed for system integration, which also gives the option of voice communications. Mobile units are controlled by a 16-bit processor with a highly flexible real-time core. It can solve navigational tasks, monitor passage through a required point, such as a state border, identify diversions from a route defined in advance, the receipt and sending of data to the server, provide vehicle diagnostics, and give information on vehicle load, the temperature of the freight space, etc. The unit is prepared for subsequent functions such as fast or slow recording-tachograph swings, Black-Box function, data filing for the journey log, immobilizer function, emergency button, remote vehicle stoppage, and voice communications with the control centre. Positions are determined by the GPS module, ensuring faultless operations in a demanding environment such as an urban development and wooded areas. An inertial navigation system may be included as part of a unit. The units are fully integrated and meet all the requirements of running a vehicle, with regard to safety, electromagnetic compatibility, climatic resilience, and coverage. Voltage: 10-34V, analogue input, Interface for CAN. LUPUS SOFTWARE The system utilizes the Server/Client architecture. German, English, Italian and Polish versions are available now, other language versions can be created rapidly for the option. The communication server provides the storing of the vehicle data transmitted to the Control Centre (client), on the UNIX, LINUX or WINDOWS NT platforms. It ensures two-way communication between the vehicle and control centre. It is able to collect data from over 10,000 vehicles. It supports LAN/Intranet or Internet communications. The data and communication structures are open to business and control information systems. The communication server ensures high reliability in the protection of the data it manages against hardware failure or data abuse The Client is a GIS software on the Windows 95 or higher platform, which can screen the current status of monitored vehicles on a digital maps basis and analyze previous operations. The SW client supports the work of the control room entirely, including communication with a vehicle crew. It also screens data filed on the server, provides statistical management of a vehicle, route calculation, and cost calculations for different vehicle types, fuel costs, bridge and tunnel tolls, ferry and ROLA charges, motorway and entry charges, travelling expenses and own costs, and calculations of distance with an optimization option. Option of entering locations by postal code, AETR decrees, bans on entry to selected countries, fuel export and import limits. The client SW also makes it possible to monitor selected subjects in separate windows. The number of such windows is unrestricted. Individual subjects in selected windows may be passed on to sub-clients, which is something security services will appreciate in particular. The remote stoppage of stolen cars with the STOP command is designed for the police force and security services. | | | | |
